Venmo recognized that mixing friends and money leads to a riff in the relationship,
so we developed Frenmo,
an in app function that saves you from saying "did you pay me back for that yet?".

We'll launch Frenmo at the Lollapalooza music festival. Around Grant Park,
we'll post reminders of what can happen when you don’t repay friends after a weekend out, using headlines inspired by the performing artists.
Festival goers link their payment wrist bands to their Venmo account so that group purchases over the next few days are handled, leaving them free to experience Lolla to the fullest.

Next, we worked on advertising Frenmo at restaurants, bars and within food delivery apps.

After Lollapalooza, we'll take the campaign to sports venues,
where groups of friends are likely to buy tickets, drinks and food together.
